Essential Airplane
The
Essential Airplane is
intended for students, pilots, non-pilots
interested in airplanes, and, of course, flight
instructors.
It is
a set of 57 exquisite color drawings and 14 commentaries
illustrating the principles of flight. The collection
is divided into six parts. Each drawing stands alone
to illustrate an idea or flight principle, but fits with
the other drawings in a given part. The first five
parts, drawings, cover basic aerodynamics, instrumentation,
airspace, weather, and complex airplanes. The sixth
part, commentaries, connects the illustrated
concepts with historical developments, poetic observation
and contemporary experience. The commentaries are
related to specific drawings.
The
Essential Airplane is available in book form or on
CD. The book is spiral bound, landscape format,
page size, printed on one side only. The book opens
flat for easy reference and the blank sides can be used
for notations by students or instructors.
