On a flight from Anchorage
to Seldovia, Alaska, I was a front seat passenger
in a four-seater airplane, with two friends, both
pilots, and my life partner. Midway through the
flight, on a glorious day of high scattered clouds
and bright sunshine, I was given complete control
of the airplane, and, for the first time in my
life I finally "connected the dots" of
myriad experiences, fantasies and dreams, scattered
all the way through my life line, back to my earliest
childhood. I discovered that I was born to fly.
At ten, I "flew" my bike off the sidewalks.
In high school, I paused at freeway onramps ("runways")
to do a proper "take off". It was common
knowledge that I would become a pilot. I did, eventually,
but it took me many years.
One secret to
a happy life is being open to opportunites to
challenge yourself; to see the world in a different
way, and to celebrate the incredible beauty of
creation.
The
lucky ones in this world are those who find out how to unleash the
magic in their lives. Some discover they were born to sing; others,
to dance. Some have many talents. Even luckier, are those who learn
how to share that magic.
Learning
to fly is a life changing experience that will forever change how
you view the world and your place in it. I would be happy to talk
to you about getting your wings.
